The UC Berkeley 24-hour Big Give is happening now, and I’m inviting you, along with all International House alumni, families, and friends, to help make this year’s Big Give the biggest ever!
Our 2024 Big Give is focused on strengthening the I-House Scholarship Fund. This fund is a vital resource that provides room and board scholarships for students with financial need and enables them to share in the often life-changing experience of living at I-House.
When you make a gift to the International House Scholarship Fund you are helping to open the doors of I-House to residents who might otherwise not be able to afford to live here. In the words of I-House scholarship recipient Selly Wang, “I come from China, and this is my first time studying abroad. I-House has provided me with a wonderful place where I don’t feel alone…Your support fund is important in allowing me to stay here, especially given the high costs associated with studying in another country, including currency exchange pressure.”
The heart of I-House is our resident community of more than 600 individuals of varying languages, cultures, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, academic pursuits, and life experiences. The International House Scholarship Fund ensures that this diversity of people and experience remains vibrant and strong.
Please help us to grow the I-House Scholarship Fund by making your gift now. If I-House receives 135 gifts during the Big Give, an additional $13,500 in matching funds from the I-House Board of Directors will be unlocked to support scholarships at I-House.
